John Bell Exhibit - Original Paintings

Two hundred years in the making, 2018 will mark the bicentennial of one of the oldest cities in the country, Fort Smith, AR. To help celebrate this historic event, RAM has organized an exhibition by Fort Smith legend and native, John Bell, Jr. (1937-2013).

Bell was an acclaimed American painter and sculptor whose career spanned nearly fifty years. His memories and influences of western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma are the topics reflected in most of his works. Bell had a keen appreciation for the beauty of our state and the character of its people.

This dynamic exhibit will showcase works by John Bell, Jr. that reside in private collections across our region, brought together to honor this truly unique artist and his works, that literally painted our local history.

Cyber Security Symposium

In partnership with Talk Business & Politics, the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer our first Symposium of 2018 on Cyber Security.  This is an exclusive opportunity being offered to the business community.   By attending this symposium, you will be able to better protect your company and your clients from cyber attacks. 

A successful cyber attack can cause major damage to your bottom line as well as the reputation of your business and consumer trust. Effects of cyber attacks can also adversely impact finances and your reputation.

Businesses that suffered a cyber breach will also generally incur costs associated with repairing affected systems, networks and devices.

About the Presenter:

Special Agent Jason Frankenberger is a Cyber trained Agent with the FBI. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2003 with a degree in Computer Engineering. He worked for a small electronics engineering firm while in College until 2006 when he was hired by the FBI. SA Frankenberger spent 5 months in Quantico Virginia training before reporting to the Memphis Field Office. While in Memphis, SA Frankenberger was a member of the Safe Streets Task force working federal violation of violent crime, gangs, and drugs. After 2 years he was moved to the Cyber Squad in Memphis specializing in criminal computer intrusion and crimes against children matters. In October of 2009, SA Frankenberger was transferred to the Dallas Field Office and specialized in National Security and Criminal Cyber computer intrusion cases. In 2013, he transferred back to his hometown of Fayetteville, AR. As a member of the Fayetteville office of the FBI, SA Frankenberger continues to specialize in all Cyber Crime but also work in Computer Forensics and other matters requiring technical investigation.

Around the World @ Your Library (for preschoolers)

In collaboration with the Fort Smith Public Schools' preschool program, the Youth Services Department at the Main Library invites children ages 3 to 6 to participate in a trip around the world at the library. Children and their caregivers are welcome to drop in to join the journey and explore other countries through exhibits, literature, and arts & crafts at this free open-house style event. It's a great way to travel!
