FORT SMITH WELCOMES $3.5 MILLION IN NEW CONSTRUCTION

Fort Smith issues more than $3.5 million in new construction permits.

Fort Smith Building Safety issued permits for new projects valued at more than $3.5 million last week.

Goodwin and Goodwin Inc. has received a permit to build townhouses valued at $2.8 million in the 3000 block of North 66th Street.

Accel Construction LLC also received an interior demolition permit for the former KFC restaurant at 7719 Rogers Ave. As reported recently by the Times Record, the building will house a Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

The new Freddy’s is expected to be open by the end of 2017.

Hester Development, LLC also received a permit for a $202,085 remodeling job at Suite 165 of Central Mall, and Bush Construction Co. has a $200,000 remodel permitted at 5201 Virginia Ave.

Building Safety also permitted construction of a new duplex at 1400 N. Fifth St. by Total J E B Electric Co. with a valuation of $128,000, and a $146,580 home at 8816 S. 36th Terrace by Gary Griffin Homes Inc.
