2017 Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair

The Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair has something for everyone! Be a part of the 81st annual Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair.

Begun in 1936 as the Fort Smith Livestock Exposition, the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair has grown into one of the premier events in the region. The 2017 fair continues the tradition by educating and entertaining over 2,500 exhibitors, vendors and over 150,000 visitors during this nine day celebration.

6th Annual Paint Downtown Pink 5k Run/Walk

Date: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Time: 8:30am to 7:00pm
Location: Glass Pavillion at Riverfront Park 100 North B Street Fort Smith

This relatively flat course runs through Belle Grove District and is a 2017 Arkansas Grand Prix Series Race in the 2017 W.A.R. Running Series. All teams must represent a business - teams may consist of employees and immediate family members. All finishers will receive a medal; those who register before Sept. 20 will also receive a t-shirt. A Traveling Plaque will be awarded to the business with the most participation of employees and their families. Packet pick-up is from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 29 or from 7-8 a.m. on the day of the race. Proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen-Ozark, Special Olympics Arkansas Area 4, and Special Olympic Athletes of Abilities Unlimited-Van Buren.

Admission: $25-35.

Downtown Stroll and Scavenger Hunt

Date: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Time: 11:00am to 1:00pm
Location: Fort Smith Museum of History 320 Rogers Avenue Fort Smith, Arkan

On Saturday, September 30, join a variety of re-enactors for a Downtown Stroll at 11 a.m. and a Scavenger Hunt for children at noon. Meet historical Fort Smith characters and learn little known facts of Fort Smith history as well as meeting well-known legends from the city's rich and colorful past. Learn the stories of Judge Isaac C. Parker, Private Henry Strong, Marie Cole, U. S. Deputy Marshal Madsen, Belle Starr, Mayor Fagan Bourland, and Bonnie and Clyde portrayed by Floyd Robison, Stephen Christian, Betsey Rooth, Steve Raney, Donna Knecht, Bill Rooth, Ruby Dean and Rodney Dean with Sue Robison and Bambi Clifton as tour guides. The downtown stroll and scavenger hunt is included with museum admission. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the scavenger hunt and stroll will be held indoors.


Admission: $7 adults; $5 veterans and military; $2 children; under age 6 free
