Carlos Luna Exhibit

Carlos Luna is a contemporary Cuban-American painter, sculptor, printmaker, and ceramicist. Duality is a common theme in Cuban art, and Luna’s art embodies the internal struggles of an artist who has been uprooted. His art references the artistic traditions of the Cuban Havana School influenced by Wifredo Lam, the European Cubist paintings of French artist Fernand Léger, the storytelling of Mexican muralism and even the horror vacui of the Latin American baroque. This exhibition will feature over 50 works of this prolific artist, that include mixed media on wood, large-scale tapestries, and works on paper. General admission is always free. Opening reception is Thursday, June 1, 5-7PM, free for members, $5 for non-members.

Katie Harper Exhibit

For the past 25 years, Harper’s commercial graphic design work has informed her fine art, and vice versa. This retrospective exhibition will explore the ways that design concepts and production methods, both old and new, influence fine art, especially with regard to technique. It will include explorations into photography and printmaking, as well as award-winning letterpress and book arts.

General admission is always free. Opening reception is Thursday, June 1, 5-7PM, free for members, $5 for non-members.

Welcome to the Fort Smith Farmers Market, where our commitment to fresh, locally grown produce and handmade goods has helped the Arkansas River Valley grow into a healthier and greener community with an emphasis on shopping local.

Since 2003, the market has offered the finest in locally produced vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, meats, baked goods, honey, eggs, jams, juried crafts, and fine art from a 90 mile radius of Fort Smith. 

We Are Open Year Round In Historic Downtown Fort Smith located at the corner of North 2nd Street & Garrison Avenue

Each market day is a feast for the senses. We invite you to come sample the bountiful cornucopia of produce our area provides. 

The Saturday market is alive with street performers, local musicians, community organizations, tourists and locals alike. As many as 90 vendors set up each week in beautiful historic downtown Fort Smith and represent the diversity of the area. 

There is plenty of parking nearby, as well as handicapped parking on site. We gladly accept SNAP/EBT Cards on Saturday’s ONLY. 

We are honored to bring the freshest produce & the best handmade products to everyone in The River Valley. Make plans to stop by this week and see what’s new, we look forward to seeing you!

22nd Annual Hell on the Border Disc Golf Tournament

The Western Arkansas Flying Disc Association; (WAFDA) presents the 22nd Annual, Hell on the Border, Disc Golf tournament. This is a Professional Disc Golf Association; (PDGA) sanctioned B-tier tournament. It is a one day, two rounds of 18 holes event, that is open to all levels of competition. Cost varies from Pros paying $60, to Recreation players paying $40. A $10 fee is added to all non-PDGA members. Registration for amateur divisions do receive a players pack. 5th Annual Brave the Mud Run

Use the force, mudders! Run, walk or crawl the fifth annual BRAVE THE MUD RUN! Your registration benefits the Women's Crisis Services of Leflore County. MAY THE COURSE BE WITH YOU! Teams of 4 or more are encouraged as well as individuals. Young and old are welcome! This year's costume contest theme is STAR WARS. Awards will be given for the best Star Wars costume - individual and team. Since the force is with all of you, everyone receives a finisher's medal and a shirt! Awards will be given for the top three male and female individuals and the top three teams. Event is chip-timed. Grab your lightsaber and get signed up today!

The River Valley Ovarian Cancer Alliance is asking you to join us for our 6th annual fundraiser to raise awareness and education about the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. Funds raised stay in our community to help patients and families fighting this disease. The event includes a full dinner, drinks, games, dancing and ticket sales for beautiful donated jewelry. Dress is causal beachwear for both men and women. Survivor tickets are complimentary.
