Fort Smith Out of the Darkness Walk

The first annual Out of the Darkness Walk to raise support and awareness about suicide prevention will be held at Ben Geren Park.

Registration begins at Noon and the walk begins at 2:30.

Dew-vies, movies at Dewey’s, will be shown every Sunday afternoon during the month of October at the Café in the Main Library.

This week’s feature will be ParaNorman (PG). A misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse in this animated adventure comedy.

Bring your family or a friend to enjoy some Sunday fun at Dewey’s Café!

All purchases made at the café support the Fort Smith Public Library.

Buried Treasure Graveside Tales

Costumed historical characters commemorate the lives of Greenwood citizens at Stroud Cemetery, adjacent to the Devil's Backbone Mountain Battlefield. National Park Ranger Cody Faber and Prof. Tom Wing portray Confederate and Union soldiers from the battle, Barbara Jacobson portrays a mysterious traveler and more.
 
Begins promptly at 2 PM.

Fall Kick-off at Devil's Den State Park

TrailBlazers Hiking Club begins 16th season of hiking at Devil's Den State Park with traditional short hikes along the familiar trails and wiener roast/potluck.  Bring your family and enjoy this beautiful state park, the hiking, fun, fellowship, and delicious food.  Bring a side dish to share and your own beverages. Anyone interested in hiking with the club is welcome to attend. The club will furnish hotdogs and the trimmings. Sign up by Saturday, Oct. 7th, if you plan to join us.  We will need to know how many hot dogs to buy!
 
Meet at Cloverleaf Plaza parking lot in Van Buren at 1:30 PM  to carpool and/or caravan or meet at Devil’s Den at the New Pavilion at 2:30 PM. Please indicate in comments where you will meet.
