Chess Knight @ Dewey’s Café

Dewey’s Café welcomes chess players of all ages and skill levels for a get together on Wednesday evenings in October. Café customers can play and discuss the game of chess in a laid back casual atmosphere. Everyone is invited, from beginners to Chess Grand Masters. Bring your own chess set if you wish; the café will have a couple on hand for those who don’t. All purchases made at the café support the Fort Smith Public Library.

Fort Smith Public Library Writing Club

Writers of all ages (from teens to seniors) and backgrounds are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Fort Smith Public Library Writing Club. Discuss writing goals and ambitions, experience other member's works, and enjoy being among others that share the same passion for writing as you. Bring a laptop or a pad of paper along with your creativity and love for writing.

Doc Night: Life, Animated (PG)

Owen Suskind developed autism at a very young age, and struggled to find a place in the world. However, through animation and moreover, Disney films, Owen discovers a method of communicating his emotions and love that follow him up into adulthood. This animated documentary from 2016 is rated PG.
